Concerned About Chemicals In Sunscreen?

 Concerned About Chemicals In Sunscreen?IMG_1062

If you are keeping abreast with the latest information you may be like so many of us that are left scratching our head when it come to making the right decisions about sunscreen.

You may hear, use sunscreen so you don’t get skin cancer, then others are saying don’t use sunscreen, it may cause cancer. What do we believe and how do we find the truth?

First of all, I want to state I am just like you, a mom trying to make the best decisions for my family, not an expert of any kind.

I can say since the skin is our largest organ it would only make good sense to be mindful of what we put on it, right?

I have written a book, where I speak in more detail about this subject, “A Battle Plan For Cancer” where I, just like you am researching to find the right answers.JGreen_BattlePlanI would recommend becoming a label reader and researching ingredients if you are concerned about chemicals in sunscreen. I really respect Josh Dr.Axe and his helpful articles. Here is one specific to the subject of ingredients in sunscreen.

At a conference a few weeks ago I ran into a sweet young Lady creating some really great products that are truly natural and she has a  great sunscreen! I used it on my face and it did not irritate it or break it out.

If your like me I also need  something on my lips in the sun as well and Divine Treasures has a really nice natural lipbalm that is peppermint-lavender that I love!IMG_1064

One rule of thumb I have when I am looking for a good natural product, if I do not know what an ingredient is I may not want to put it on my skin until I find out what it is!

This is the ingredient List. Click on this link to order Divine Teasures sunscreen

1.unrefined coconut oil

2. raw shea butter

3.jojoba oil

5.carrot seed oil

6.lavender oil

Now this is a truly natural sunscreen so we can have the protection we want without the chemicals we don’t want! Thanks Divine Treasures for creating a great product.

Amazing uses for baking soda

Amazing uses for baking soda007

Baking soda can be purchased for around 50 cents a box at some stores, and it may just be the most cost effective product in your home. Baking soda may be sitting in your fridge just taking up space, but I am going to share how many amazing uses there are for this one simple product.

If you are concerned with the pesticides on your produce, then baking soda is a good way to remove them. Baking soda can be mixed with water to clean and deodorize your fridge. It also removes surface stains from your counter tops.

You can use a cup of baking soda, followed by a cup of hot white vinegar, and then a quart of boiling water to flush drains. Baking soda can also be used to remove the red sauce stains from your plastic.

Baking soda can also be used for a non-toxic detergent for your babies’ clothes as well as removing sweat stains. You make a past with water and baking soda and leave on the stains for an hour before washing.

You can also use it as a bath soak for dry skin as well as relief for sunburned or itchy skin. I do not measure but around a half a cup should be plenty. You can also scrub rough heels and exfoliate skin on the body and face.

Among baking soda’s many uses, it is a known deodorizer. You can use it for under arm deodorant as well as deodorizing shoes. Another great use is for your carpets. Sprinkle all over carpets, let sit for 30 minutes or so, and vacuum. This website focuses solely on cleaning uses for baking soda.

One of the latest uses I have heard, but not actually tested yet, is alkalizing your bodies PH. Many testimonies can be found on YouTube where people have used baking soda and lemon for this purpose and even in their regimen for cancer? Dr Axe explains the importance of an alkaline body in this article.

Baking soda is an old remedy for heartburn that is making new headlines these days. Baking soda has several amazing uses that may replace other products in your home. It has become one of my favorite products and is a great go-to for those looking to live healthy on a budget.
