Baking soda can be purchased for around 50 cents a box at some stores, and it may just be the most cost effective product in your home. Baking soda may be sitting in your fridge just taking up space, but I am going to share how many amazing uses there are for this one simple product.
If you are concerned with the pesticides on your produce, then baking soda is a good way to remove them. Baking soda can be mixed with water to clean and deodorize your fridge. It also removes surface stains from your counter tops.
You can use a cup of baking soda, followed by a cup of hot white vinegar, and then a quart of boiling water to flush drains. Baking soda can also be used to remove the red sauce stains from your plastic.
Baking soda can also be used for a non-toxic detergent for your babies’ clothes as well as removing sweat stains. You make a past with water and baking soda and leave on the stains for an hour before washing.
You can also use it as a bath soak for dry skin as well as relief for sunburned or itchy skin. I do not measure but around a half a cup should be plenty. You can also scrub rough heels and exfoliate skin on the body and face.
Among baking soda’s many uses, it is a known deodorizer. You can use it for under arm deodorant as well as deodorizing shoes. Another great use is for your carpets. Sprinkle all over carpets, let sit for 30 minutes or so, and vacuum. This website focuses solely on cleaning uses for baking soda.
