Do Not Despise Small Beginnings!

As I was sitting here praying today about what to write, my prayer was, “Father, what questions are your daughters asking and how can I encourage them?” I heard the phrase, “Do not despise small beginnings”.

Are you feeding or Fighting Disease With Your food?

Am I feeding or fighting disease with my food? The age old wisdom of Hippocrates says “Let thy food be thy medicine”. The wisdom of our Creator in the Bible states “Genesis 1:29 “And God said Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is a fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be GOOD for food”.

It seems pretty apparent by the state of our overall health in this country that we may missing some of the wellness practices that the Bible or Hippocrates prescribed. There are multiple facets to wellness, but today I am going to focus on food choices. If you do not feel your best these days it may be time to face this question personally: am I fighting or feeding disease with my food? read more

If your like most women there are just times where you feel like you have to have something sweet, right? Problem is we are not always prepared for that moment and may grab something without thinking to satisfy that sweet tooth.

Encouragement For My Friends

Encouragement For My friends

I am dedicating this blog to a group of women who I am walking with in this season, but it is encouragement for all!

This area of health and wellness is a marathon, not a sprint! This has been a struggle off and on throughout my life. I have battled with gluttony (overeating), emotional or stress eating, and cravings for foods that are not healthy!

This has been an area that I have had to pray through and ask for grace from God to get a hold of. My heart is to help others overcome and experience abundant life in every area including your health. read more

Cheapest Way To Eliminate Dry Winter Skin

Cheapest Way To Eliminate Dry Winter

As we get into the winter, it usually means drier skin. This is because of the lack of moisture and running the heat. Washing our hands more frequently to ward off the viruses and colds does not help with eliminating dry winter skin.

I used to lather up with lotions until I thought about our skin being the largest organ. I heard someone say, “If you can’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin.” O.k. I was pretty sure I could not eat any of the lotions I was bathing my body in, so I decided to start looking for more natural options. read more

How Do We CRUSH PMS Cravings?

How Do We CRUSH PMS Cravings?

This is a question most women have once a month. As I examine myself, this has been a real struggle on and off again. Can anyone relate? So before we can crush our cravings, lets talk about the “why” behind it.

HORMONES: Cortisol and Serotonin. So we get this part of it–yeah , yeah, Stef. We know about the hormones.

Cortisol spikes before your period which causes the calm-inducing hormone serotonin to dip. This combo tends to cause us to crave what “satisfies” us to spike that “feel good” hormone. I would like to invite you to gain some perspective with me. read more

What Does Healthy Look Like For You?9b00-0783-ca64-f478

In today’s society we are bombarded with images and ideals of what we as women should look like according to the media. A lot of these models that are featured on the cover of the latest magazines are not always a healthy weight for everyone!

Not only are they airbrushed and made to appear as if they have no flaws, which is a complete fantasy, but it can make women feel as if this is a standard we all should live up to.

The question we all need to ask ourselves is what does healthy look like for me? For each of us, it may be very different in our appearance and that is o.k.! As we get older we realize that our health is what really matters, not what size we are or how we look in our bathing suit. read more
